Two ways to buy
Most B2B raw material suppliers give you one route: an email to a sales desk, a wait, a PDF, a negotiation. That works for tonnage. It is absurd overhead when a product developer needs 15 kg to run a trial next week. So there are two routes here and neither is a downgrade of the other.
Route A - order online, self-service
Go to the product page on fdcm.eu, choose the quantity, check out. This is genuinely e-commerce: prices are visible, stock status is visible, you get an order confirmation immediately. Suited to trials, pilot batches, R&D quantities, and repeat orders where you already know exactly what you want and the spec has not changed.
Route B - request a quote
Use the form if any of the following applies: you need more than a pallet, you need a specific protein or fat window, you need the same lot across a production run, you need documentation beyond the standard CoA (halal, allergen ELISA, pesticide screen), you are shipping outside the EU, or you want fixed pricing for a period. A human reads it and replies within one business day with price, availability and delivery estimate.
What you need to decide before you order
Four decisions, in this order. Get them right and the order is trivial; get them wrong and you will be reformulating.

What happens after you order
- Confirmation, same day. Order acknowledged with lot availability. If the lot you would receive has a shorter date than usual, you are told before dispatch, not after.
- Invoice and payment. EUR bank transfer, SEPA for EU. New accounts are typically prepayment or short credit after verification; established accounts move to 30 days.
- Pick and pack. Bags picked from the batch, palletised and stretch-wrapped. Mixed pallets across products are standard.
- Dispatch and tracking. DSV road freight, tracking issued on collection.
- Delivery. 1-6 business days by country. Business address delivery is standard.
- Documents. Commercial invoice, batch CoA, CMR, allergen declaration and specification sheet. Digital as standard, paper originals on request.

Buying on headline price without normalising for protein
An 80.1% batch and an 82.9% batch both sell as WPC 80. Over a year, on a 5-tonne consumption, the difference between them is worth more than most negotiated discounts. Normalise every offer to cost per kg of protein before you compare.
Ordering Instant for an industrial mixer
You are paying roughly €4.56/kg for a dispersibility property that a ribbon blender and 90 seconds of shear make irrelevant. Instant earns its premium in the consumer's hand, not in your factory.
Ignoring the shelf life you are buying
WPC 80 carries 18-24 months from production. A pallet bought at a 4% discount that reaches month 20 in your warehouse is a write-off wearing a discount's clothing. Match order size to turnover, not to the price table.
Skipping the CoA review
The CoA is not paperwork. It tells you the actual protein, the actual fat and whether the microbiology of this specific lot clears your internal limits. Read the one you received, not the specification sheet you were sent in the offer.
Treating whey protein as a stable-price input
It is not skimmed milk powder and it is not sugar. If your product costing assumes a fixed WPC 80 price for four quarters, either lock the price contractually or build the volatility into the margin. Do not assume it.
Buying WPC 80 - FAQ
The webshop will process the order, but this is a B2B operation and the material is sold as a food-manufacturing raw material in 15-20 kg industrial bags. There is no consumer packaging, no flavouring and no retail labelling. If you want protein powder for personal use, buy a finished consumer product - a 15 kg bag of unflavoured WPC 80 is not it.
For most applications the honest answer is that a single 15 kg bag at €384 is the sample - it is small enough to trial and large enough to run a real pilot batch, which a 200 g sachet is not. For larger programmes where sampling makes commercial sense, ask; we will discuss it against the expected volume.
