WPC 80 bag sizes, MOQ and pallet quantities

15 kg or 20 kg - not 25 kg, and there is a reason. Packaging construction, pallet configuration, minimum order, and how to size an order against shelf life instead of against the discount table.

Bag sizes and minimum order - the direct answer

The most common search around this topic is some version of "WPC 80 25 kg". It is worth clearing up first: WPC 80 is not packed in 25 kg bags here. Bag format follows the producer's fill line for the grade, and for whey protein concentrate that is 15 kg or 20 kg, not 25 kg. The 25 kg bag is the standard format for denser, cheaper powders - skimmed milk powder, sweet whey powder, maltodextrin, citric acid - where a 25 kg fill is manageable and the pallet economics work.

If you specifically need WPC 80 in a 25 kg format - because your dosing station is built for it, or your warehouse racking assumes it - say so in the enquiry. It is a sourcing question, not a repacking one, and the answer depends on what is available at the time.

The three numbers that matter

  • 15 kg - the smallest WPC 80 order possible. One bag of Regular. €383.70 net.
  • 20 kg - one bag of Instant. €602.80 net.
  • Zero - the annual volume you have to commit to in order to get either.

Packaging construction

Multi-layer kraft paper with a polyethylene inner liner. Multiple paper plies give mechanical strength for stacking and handling; the PE liner is the functional moisture barrier. Bags are heat-sealed or stitched depending on the producer.

The important limitation, and one that catches out buyers who assume a foil-laminate standard: this is not a hermetic pack. It resists ambient humidity in a normal dry warehouse over the 18-24 month shelf life. It does not resist a damp warehouse, a cold store, or storage against an external wall where condensation cycles. If your storage is marginal, that is a real caking risk, not a theoretical one.

Every bag is labelled with product name, lot number, production and best-before date, net weight, allergen information and the producer's identification. The lot number is what ties the bag to its Certificate of Analysis - record it at goods-in.

Pallet configuration

WPC 80 Regular (15 kg)~40-44600-660 kgDenser powder, tighter stack
WPC 80 Instant (20 kg)~40-44800-880 kgBulkier per kg - agglomerated, porous

Pallets are stretch-wrapped for transit. Mixed pallets across products are standard and usually the smartest way to buy - combining WPC 80 with casein, SMP, maltodextrin or creatine on a single pallet cuts freight per kg substantially and can move you into a better price band without over-buying any one item.

Work out the right order size with us

Tell us your monthly consumption and we will tell you where the quantity break sits for your delivery country - including whether consolidating with other FDCM products gets you there faster than buying more WPC 80 than you can turn over.

Sizing the order against shelf life

The seductive mistake in raw material buying: chase the per-kg discount, ignore the date. WPC 80 carries 18-24 months from production - and you receive it some way into that, not at zero.

The arithmetic worth doing before every larger order:

  1. Remaining shelf life on arrival. Ask. A lot produced eight months ago has 10-16 months left, not 24.
  2. Your true monthly consumption. Actual, not planned. Planned volumes are optimistic by a factor that every purchasing manager knows and few write down.
  3. Months of cover. Order quantity ÷ monthly consumption.
  4. Margin. If cover exceeds remaining shelf life minus roughly three months, you are buying a write-off with a discount attached.
Worked example. 40 kg/month consumption. A 500 kg pallet at a 4% saving is €511 of discount - and 12.5 months of cover. If the lot arrives with 15 months left, you finish it with two and a half months to spare and the trade works, provided nothing changes. If your consumption drops to 30 kg/month because a customer reformulates, cover goes to 16.7 months, you write off part of the pallet, and the €511 discount has cost you several thousand. Order to turnover, not to the price table.

Handling and goods-in

  • Weight. 15 and 20 kg bags are within normal manual handling limits but repetitive lifting is a genuine risk. Palletised delivery to a business address is standard; a tail-lift and a pallet truck at your end make this a non-issue.
  • Goods-in checks. Record the lot number, verify the best-before date, check bags for tears and damp marks, and match the lot to the CoA. Two minutes at goods-in prevents an argument three months later.
  • Storage. Off the floor, on pallets, away from external walls, below 20°C, under 65% RH, away from anything aromatic. Whey protein powder absorbs odour readily and permanently.
  • Opened bags. Do not leave a part-used bag folded over. Transfer to a sealed container and use within 4-6 weeks. Instant, being porous, degrades faster once open than Regular.
  • Stock rotation. FIFO by lot number, not by delivery date. If you have taken two lots in one week they may have very different production dates.

Bag sizes and MOQ - FAQ

Not as a standard format. WPC 80 is filled at 15 kg (Regular) or 20 kg (Instant) by the producers we source from. 25 kg is the standard format for denser commodity powders such as skimmed milk powder, sweet whey powder and maltodextrin. If a 25 kg format is a hard requirement for your dosing equipment, raise it at enquiry stage.

One 15 kg bag of WPC 80 Regular, at €25.58/kg net - €383.70 for the bag. For Instant, one 20 kg bag at €30.14/kg - €602.80. There is no additional small-order surcharge on the goods and no annual commitment.

No. Bags are shipped sealed as filled by the producer. Breaking a bag would mean repacking outside the original packaging, which compromises the moisture barrier, the labelling chain and the link between the material and its Certificate of Analysis. It is not something we do.

500 kg Big Bags can be arranged on request for buyers with the handling equipment to deal with them. Ask before ordering - availability is lot-dependent and you need a hoist or a forklift with a jib, not a pallet truck.

Roughly 40-44 bags, giving 600-660 kg for 15 kg Regular and 800-880 kg for 20 kg Instant. Pallets are stretch-wrapped for transit.

Yes, and it is usually the right move. Mixed pallets are standard. Combining WPC 80 with casein, SMP, maltodextrin, creatine or anything else in the range cuts freight per kg and can reach a better quantity band without over-buying a single item.

WPC 80 carries 18-24 months from production and you receive it partway into that window. If remaining shelf life matters for your order size, ask before dispatch and we will confirm the production date of the lot you would receive.
